What is the process of getting my child seen?
- Complete a Referral Form: Start by filling out our online referral form.
- Parent Intake Session: We’ll schedule a session to discuss your child’s concerns, challenges, and goals.
- Treatment Plan: After the intake, the therapist will develop a treatment plan tailored to your child’s needs.
- First Session with Your Child: Following the parent intake, we’ll schedule the first session with your child.
Do I need a GP referral to see a therapist?
No, a GP referral is not required. You can directly submit a referral form, and anyone can refer your child to our services.
How long are the therapy sessions?
Therapy sessions typically last 50 minutes. For children aged 3-4, the session time will be 45 minutes. The last 10 minutes of each hour are used for the therapist to take notes and reflect on the session.
What should I tell my child about coming to see a therapist?
Be honest and simple. You can explain that the therapist will help with things like big emotions or specific challenges your child might be facing. You might say, “We’re going to see someone who can help you with [xxx]. She has toys and games, and you get to decide what you want to do when you go.”
